Singer Mary J. Blige's money woes have gone from bad to worse after U.S. authorities slapped her with a new £2.2 million tax bill. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials have filed a federal tax lien against the R&B star for income taxes she allegedly failed to pay from 2009 to 2011, reports TMZ.com.
The IRS lawsuit is on top of the £581,000 Blige is accused of owing the state of New Jersey in back taxes.
Blige's financial problems don't end there - in February (2013), she was sued for allegedly defaulting on a £323,000 bank loan, and lawyers for Signature Bank in the U.S. took legal action against the star last summer (2012) over claims she failed to make good on a £1.4 million payout.
